The phone's for you

"Chelsea!!!!! Phone!!!!!!!!!"

"Okay, I'll be there in a second."

"Hurry up."

"Who is it?"

"They didn't say."

"Hello?"

I don't get very many home phone calls anymore because I have a cell phone and usually I can't hear the home phone ringing from my upstairs bedroom with my headphones on. Plus, not very many people call me anyways. But what about when God calls you? Sure, he doesn't use the phone, but he might use someone like a Ruth to get through to you. So, what will you do? Are you going to hang up? Or are you going listen to what God wants to tell you? Are you afraid of what He might tell you? What if He wants you to move away from friends, family, and your church? Would you accept that? Sure God doesn't have a physical phone, but He has something else. It's called prayer and when dialing for God, you dial the operator who then sends the word to the Big Man himself. Who is that operator, you ask? Well, think about it. When we are about to finish praying, what do we normally say? "In Christ, Jesus' name I pray." Yep, Jesus is that operator. Some of you may remember me talking about instant messaging as an analogy to prayer and I think this could be one too. So, is God calling you today to do something?
